Buick

2010 Buick Enclave CX Front-Wheel Drive

Family Friendliness: 8.5

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications apply to all front-wheel drive models.

What it Is: A full-size eight-passenger luxury crossover
What's Hot: Lexus-level luxury at a much lower price.
What's Not:
We wish we collision avoidance was available.
Family Friendly Options: Back-up camera, rear-seat DVD player
How It Got Its Score: Despite its mid-30's price tag, the Buick Enclave scores well on our Family Friendliness Index thanks to its generous cargo capacity, plentiful safety features and relatively good fuel economy.

It would be easy for us to say that Buick isn't an old-man's car anymore, but we'll let Buick's marketing department do that. Instead, we'll just focus on the merits of the 2010 Buick Enclave, and there are plenty of them. This is a darn fine looking car, inside and out, and it still looks fresh even in its fourth year on the market. The interior is equally nicely appointed. The good news is that despite the luxury surroundings, this is still a very family friendly vehicle. It can seat up to eight, has generous cargo room, and GM's "Smart Slide" second-row is designed to make getting into the third row of seats easier. Safety systems are plentiful, but with collision avoidance becoming de rigeur on luxury vehicles, we're disappointed that it's not available even on a fully loaded Buick Enclave. Regardless, this is one of the most Family Friendly luxury crossovers on the market.
