2010 Chrysler 300C

Family Friendliness: 7.0

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications also apply to 300 S V-8 and Walter P. Chrysler Executive Series models.

What it Is: A full-size, V-8 drive sedan.
Who it's For:
Families who want a large sedan and can live with two LATCH points.
What's Hot:
It doesn't scream "soccer mom," stability and traction control, all-wheel drive.
What's Not:
Fuel economy, less than "Good" IIHS safety ratings.
Family Friendly Options: Uconnect multimedia system, navigation, rear-seat entertainment.
How It Got Its Score: The Chrysler 300 offers up lots of interior room and a big trunk, but sub-par crash test scores from the IIHS, higher price and lower fuel economy bring down the score.

The Chrysler 300 comes in thee models based on engine size, a pair of V-6s and a Hemi V-8, with all-wheel drive available on the 3.5-liter V-6 and the V-8. While the 300 is in its sixth model year, the stylish design still stands apart from other full-size sedans offering families a distinct alternative to a minivan.

The 300C is Chrysler's flagship sedan with a Hemi V-8, offering substantial power, but with fuel economy that's better than you might think. Chrysler's Uconnect multimedia, navigation, premium stereo and rear-seat entertainment are among the options, while safety features such as anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control are standard. The Walter P. Chrysler Executive Series extends the 300C, adding 10 inches to rear leg room.

Over all the 300 is a cool alternative for those who can't bear to be seen in a minivan or crossover. We think it's well-suited to families with older children who will appreciate the roomier back seats not found in a mid-size sedan.
