Chrysler
2010 Chrysler Sebring Limited V-6
What it Is: A midsize, front-wheel drive sedan.
Who it's For: Families who need no more than two LATCH positions and are OK with a sedan's smaller cargo space.
What's Hot: Low price for a V-6 midsize sedan.
What's Not: Stability and traction control not standard.
Family Friendly Options: Uconnect in-car broadband 3G router, side-curtain airbags, six-speed auto-stick transmission.
How It Got Its Score: Standard safety features and price give the Sebring Limited a good score among its competitors. Lower gas mileage pulls the score down from the four-cylinder's.
Chrysler offers two models of the Sebring, powered by either a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission or a 3.5-liter, V-6 with a six-speed auto stick. Now in its fourth year, this version gets a much needed refresh of what was curious styling. Standard anti-lock brakes, side-curtain and seat-mounted airbags cover most of the safety needs, but stability and traction control are optional even on the Limited, very unusual and disappointing in this category. Chrysler's Uconnect phone, multimedia, Internet and navigation, along with a premium audio system and power sun roof, are among the available options. Over all, this model offers more niceties than the Touring, including heated seats, automatic climate control and remote start. The auto stick function on the transmission adds a bit of sportiness to driving the Limited.
