2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid

Family Friendliness: 7.7

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications apply to this model only.

What it Is: A midsize sedan with a fuel-efficient hybrid engine.
Who it's For: Families who need no more than two LATCH positions, and not much cargo space.
What's Hot: Hybrid engine is very fuel efficient, and the price is reasonable.
What's Not: Battery pack significantly reduces trunk space.
How It Got Its Score: Like most sedan-based hybrids, the Fusion Hybrid scores very high on fuel economy, but takes a penalty in utility because of its small trunk.

Ford is determined to take on Toyota as the King of the Hybrids, and the Fusion Hybrid is a great weapon against the Japanese carmaker. It offers a very fuel efficient package all wrapped up in the Ford Fusion package, which is one of the most stylish midsize sedans on the market today. Beyond the hybrid powertrain, the Fusion Hybrid offers up a comfortable and roomy interior, plenty of gadgets, and an innovative dash that grows digital "leaves" to indicate how eco-friendly your driving is. The only downside is that the Fusion Hybrid is probably not the best solution for parents who need strollers, since the battery pack for the hybrid system cuts significantly into trunk space.
