2010 Honda Fit Sport

Family Friendliness: 8.0

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications apply to this model only.

What it Is: A five-passenger, five-door subcompact hatchback.
What's Hot: Exceptionally clever second row, surprising cargo room for such a small car.
What's Not:
A little pricey for a subcompact, fuel economy not much better than a Honda Civic.
Family Friendly Options: USB port, navigation.
How It Got Its Score: The 2010 Honda Fit Sport has good cargo room and fuel economy. It also boasts standard stability and traction control, giving it a strong Family Friendliness score, considering its size.

Subcompacts are generally not the most family friendly cars available, but the 2010 Honda Fit Sport has a few key features that make it worth considering. First, unlike the base Honda Fit, it has standard stability and traction control, which are key safety features. Second, it also has the "Magic Seat," which is a multiconfigurable rear seat that can accommodate a variety of cargo in many different sizes. Speaking of cargo, behind the rear seats is more than 20 cu.-ft. of cargo space, and if you fold those seats down, you have 57.3 cu.-ft. of cargo area, more than the much larger Honda Accord Crosstour. The Honda Fit Sport costs more than the base Honda Fit, but we think it's worth the extra money. However, be forewarned that it costs more than the larger Honda Civic DX, and the fuel economy is about a wash, with the Civic actually getting better highway fuel economy.
