Honda

2010 Honda Accord EX Four-Cylinder

Family Friendliness: 7.9

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications also apply to EX-L four-cylinder models.

What it Is: A full-size four-door sedan.
Who it's For: Families who prefer a traditional sedan and need no more than two LATCH points.
What's Hot: Roomy interior and Honda's reputation for reliability.
What's Not: The Accord is a little more expensive than other big four-cylinder sedans.
How It Got Its Score: The Accord's fuel economy and safety scores are good, and the fact that it's a large car helps too. The only real demerit is a slightly higher price for the EX model.

When Honda introduced the current-generation Accord for the 2008 model year, it moved the sedan up into the large-car category. This vastly improved interior room, especially in the rear seat, which makes using a child seat easier. The EX is the middle-model Accord, and features a slightly more powerful four-cylinder engine than the base LX, but without a fuel economy penalty. Although the higher price of the EX brings down the Family Friendliness score a little, we think that given the extra power and features that the EX is a better value in the long run.
