How It Got Its Score: The Lexus RX 350 scores surprisingly well for a luxury brand thanks to its plentiful standard and optional safety equipment, excellent crash test scores and huge cargo area.

The Lexus RX was the first luxury crossover vehicle, and its success continues unabated to this day. Now in its third generation, Lexus has been careful not to tamper with the successful formula. The styling is familiar, but modern, and the luxurious interior is surprisingly affordable, for a premium luxury brand. We particularly like the joystick-controlled navigation system, which simplifies destination entries and other nav functions. There's also plenty of safety equipment standard, plus active cruise control and collision avoidance are available as options. Many of the options packages are pricey though, and it's easy to pay more than $50,000, and that's before any dealer-added accessories. Still, if you like the looks of the RX and price isn't much of a consideration, the 2010 Lexus RX 350 is a popular choice for good reason.
