2010 Mazda 6 i Sport

Family Friendliness: 8.0

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications also apply to i Touring, i Touring Plus and i Grand Touring models.

What it Is: A four-door mid-size sedan.
Who it's For: Families who want a sporty-driving sedan with no more than two LATCH points.
What's Hot: Swoopy styling, generous trunk space.
What's Not: Somewhat tight interior.
How It Got Its Score: The Mazda 6's large trunk and fuel-efficient four-cylinder engine combine with a low price for a good Family Friendliness rating.

When the Mazda 6 was redesigned for the 2009 model year, Mazda addressed the primary concern of its buyers by making the car significantly larger. That's good news for buyers, as the 6 has one of the largest trunks in the mid-size sedan category (16.6 cu.-ft.), plus a fold-down rear seatback. The interior itself is a little on the tight side however, owing to the car's swoopy and sporty styling. However, Mazda is largely known for being an enthusiast's brand, and if you want a little added sport in your family sedan, the 6 is worth a look.
