2010 Mercury Milan Four-Cylinder

Family Friendliness: 8.0

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications also apply to Premier four-cylinder models.

What it Is: A midsize, four-cylinder, five-passenger sedan.
Who it's For: Families who need no more than two LATCH points.
What's Hot: Fuel efficient four-cylinder engine and a comfortable interior.
What's Not: Slightly more expensive than similar Ford Fusion.
Family Friendly Options: Bluetooth, backup camera, SYNC, navigation.
How It Got Its Score: The 2010 Mercury Milan four-cylinder is a premium version of the Ford Fusion, with a nicer interior and more standard features. It's also a little more expensive, which lowers its score sightly.

Along with the 2010 Ford Fusion, the Mercury Milan got a reworked nose and tail for the 2010 model year. Its options packages got reshuffled a little, too, distinguishing it a little more from its Ford sibling. With the exception of styling and how you can option the vehicles, they're virtually identical. Since it has more standard features, the Mercury costs a little more to begin with, but not a significant amount. The styling is also less in-your-face than the Ford Fusion, which certainly appeals to some buyers. Overall, the fuel efficient four-cylinder, big 16.5 cu.-ft. trunk and relatively low price make for a compelling midsize sedan, one that you definitely don't see coming and going every day.
