How It Got Its Score: The 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS offers more power than the base models, and more standard equipment, but at a higher price and with slightly worse fuel economy. Its Family Friendliness score suffers, but just a little.
The 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS offers up a larger, 2.4-liter engine than the base DE and ES models, giving it more zip to back up its more aggressive styling. Thanks to the continuously variable transmission, fuel economy only suffers a little bit, although the base price is notably higher than the base DE model. Still, the GTS offers better standard equipment, such as automatic climate control, a better audio system and standard Bluetooth cell phone integration. It also can be ordered with navigation and a leather interior, if you like that sort of thing. On the other hand, the $20,735 price (including destination and an automatic transmission) is a little high; you can save $1,000 if you order the five-speed manual, although fuel economy drops.
