What's Hot: Ample cargo space.
What's Not: Poor fuel economy, high price.
Family Friendly Options: iPod interface.
How It Got Its Score: The Mitsubishi Endeavor is an older vehicle, and not surprisingly, it isn't very competitive with today's newer crossovers. It offers up a big cargo area, but poor fuel economy and only so-so safety scores drag its score down.

The Mitsubishi Endeavor has been around for ages, and not much has changed since it was introduced in 2003 as a 2004 model. Standard is a 3.8-liter V-6 engine that puts out 225 hp. However, it only gets 18 mpg on the EPA's combined cycle, and is handily outpowered by competitive vehicles like the Ford Edge, which also gets better fuel economy. The Endeavor's primary strength is its cargo area, which at 40.7 cu.-ft. is pretty hard to beat. However, you sacrifice to get that cargo area. The price is on the high side compared to other vehicles in this class, and you can't even get navigation or a backup camera on two-wheel drive models. Crash test scores are only so-so, and we're left to think that the Endeavor is best for die-hard Mitsubishi fans, as there are better values elsewhere.
