Just because you need a small car doesn't mean you can't have fun behind the wheel. That's the overriding message behind the 2010 Nissan Sentra SE-R, a performance-oriented version of the standard Sentra. The good news is that even with a more powerful engine, the SE-R sacrifices very little. It costs more, of course, but you also get more for your money. It also loses very little in terms of utility. Fuel economy is still very good at 26 mpg on the EPA's combined cycle, and since the Sentra's interior volume and trunk space help it qualify in the EPA's midsize class, you have more room than rivals like the Honda Civic Si and Toyota Corolla XRS. It's also priced competitively with those models, and undercuts the Civic Si by a notable margin.
