If you put more of an emphasis on performance than practicality, you may have trouble finding a decent small family car. Or, you could wind up behind the wheel of a 2010 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V. With a 200 horsepower engine and six-speed manual transmission, along with a sport-tuned suspension, the SE-R Spec V has the performance credentials. As luck would have it, it's all wrapped up in a pretty family friendly little car. The Sentra is technically a midsize car thanks to its generous interior and trunk space, and even with the high performance engine, fuel economy isn't too bad. It even comes with options like navigation, Bluetooth and a backup camera. On the downside, if you want the most powerful Sentra and an automatic transmission, you're out of luck, as the Spec V is manual-only. It also drinks premium fuel, which may be a little too pricey for some people.
