The 2010 Toyota Matrix S is already a pretty handy little wagon, seeing as how it's essentially a more convenient version of the Toyota Corolla sedan. However, if you live in an area prone to foul weather, the Matrix S offers something you can't get in a Corolla (or very many compact cars for that matter): All-wheel drive. Fuel economy goes down with the all-wheel drive option, and it's more expensive than the standard Matrix S, too. However, if you need that 19.8 cu.-ft. of cargo room, like the styling and simply need all-wheel drive, it's not a huge price for an all-wheel drive wagon. Just keep in mind that the options add up quickly.
