Crossovers

2010 Audi Q5 Premium

Family Friendliness: 7.9

Recommended: Not Yet Driven

Specifications also apply to Premium Plus and Prestige models.

What it Is: A luxury five-passenger crossover utility vehicle.
What's Hot: Reclining and sliding rear seats, sporty looking S Line package.
What's Not: High price of entry.
Family Friendly Options: Navigation, back up camera, power liftgate.
How It Got Its Score: The Audi Q5 has a lot going for it, such as very good crash test scores, plenty of other safety equipment and a good sized cargo area. However, it's expensive, which hurts the score.

The 2010 Audi Q5 goes head to head with luxury crossovers from Acura and Volvo, among many others, and acquits itself quite well against them. For example, it has plenty of cargo space, gets decent fuel economy (if not stellar), and seats five. It also has excellent crash test scores and plentiful safety equipment, such as a blind spot detector that tells you when someone is riding where you can't see on the highway. The biggest problem, if there is one, is the price, which at nearly $39,000 is hard to swallow, especially considering that's the cheapest you can go. The Premium Plus is more than $42,000, and the Prestige is more than $49,000.
