We've known for a while that there would be a hybrid version of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata that impressed us so much when we first drove it a little while back. Fuel economy is one of the major selling points of the new sedan, after all. Now that the 2011 Hyundai Sonata hybrid is here, we can only say that Hyundai continues to bat 1000 with its mainstream family sedan. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is the most Family Friendly hybrid we've put through our algorithm, and its combination of an anticipated low price, excellent fuel economy and large interior give it a very good score, better than many non-hybrid sedans, and notably better than the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Ford Fusion Hybrid, its primary targets. The 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid also sports a unique exterior which not only looks cool -- we especially dig the LED highlights in the headlights -- it reduces aerodynamic drag for better highway fuel economy. The Sonata Hybrid is packed with technology, too, including the ability to cruise at speeds up to 62 mpg on just electricity.
