How It Got Its Score: The Acura TL is a striking looking sport sedan with a powerful V-6 engine. However, like many luxury cars its price hurts its family friendliness score, despite its midsize dimensions and decent (if not stellar) fuel economy.

The Acura TL was fully redesigned a couple of years ago, and the aggressive lines aren't to everyone's liking. Still, if you do like the bulging fenders and prominent grille, there are a lot of fun features in this sport sedan. It offers five passenger seating, two LATCH points and a good-sized if not generous trunk. Fuel economy is pretty good for a car of this size and power. However, like many luxury brand cars the Acura TL doesn't come cheap, with a base price in the $35,000 range, although for that price you get a very nice leather interior, excellent audio system and many other luxury touches. If you have the means, and like the looks, then it's worth a close look.
