How It Got Its Score: The all-wheel drive Buick LaCrosse CXL loses a couple of tenths compared to the CX due to its higher price, lower fuel economy and slightly smaller trunk.
Buick put a target on the back of the Lexus ES 350 luxury sedan, and scored a bulls eye with the 201 Buick LaCrosse. The CXL is available with all-wheel drive, a boon to those who live in climates where there is plenty of foul weather. However, the penalty for added traction is threefold: slightly lower fuel economy, a slightly smaller trunk, and a higher price. If you don't mind those demerits, there's plenty to recommend about the 2010 Buick LaCrosse. It still offers plenty of luxury for the price, looks great inside and out, and has plenty of safety and passenger comfort features. It should also be noted that it's one of only a handful of sedans at this price available with all-wheel drive, and its Family Friendliness score is still competitive with other cars, such as the front-wheel drive Acura TSX.
