How It Got Its Score: The Buick LaCrosse CX boasts fuel economy that's among the best in the premium midsize sedan market. However, it's still pricey, and a bigger trunk would help.
GM is re-focusing Buick as a premium brand, making it an attractive alternative to vehicles such as the Lexus ES 350, Acura TSX and Toyota Avalon. For 2010, the LaCrosse gets a new base engine, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that improves fuel economy, and bumps its Family Friendliness ranking up a tenth. The Buick doesn't skimp on features though, with a premium audio system available that bundles Bluetooth cell phone integration and a USB jack for an iPod. The numerous safety features are also a plus. A bigger trunk would definitely increase its family friendliness score, and it'd be nice if the price were a little lower, but overall the 2010 Buick LaCrosse CX with the new four-cylinder engine strikes us as a pretty good luxury car value.
