What's Not: Lackluster fuel economy.
Family Friendly Options: Navigation, Bluetooth, USB, rear-seat entertainment system.
How It Got Its Score: The Suburban is the king of the SUVs, with lots of cargo and passenger space, and four-wheel drive capability. However, it's still not as cargo-efficient as a minivan, and much more thirsty, too.

For 75 years the Chevy Suburban has been one of America's iconic family haulers, and for good reason. It offers up tremendous passenger space for up to nine people, and an enormous cargo area in the back, with 45.8 cu.-ft. available behind the rear seats. The Suburban is also nicely equipped, and higher end models can be ordered with a navigation system, Bluetooth cell phone integration and a rear seat entertainment system, not to mention leather seating and wood-grain trim. But while size is the Suburban's friend, it's also the enemy. It's expensive simply because it's a lot of vehicle. Fuel economy is only 17 mpg on the EPA's combined cycle, which pales next to modern minivans. In fact, with the exception of seats-up cargo space, a minivan trumps most of the Suburban's advantages in a more compact package. Still, who wouldn't want to drive an icon?
