The 2010 Kia Soul is either a compact wagon or hatchback, depending on which designation you think is cooler. That's because this little Kia is all about cool. The styling is eye grabbing, and the interior offers up more visual cues. Aimed at youthful buyers, the Soul offers up some features that a family with small children could also appreciate. The cargo area is generous, offering up 19.3 cu.-ft. of space behind the rear seats, or 53.4 cu.-ft. with the seat folded. The fuel economy is also excellent. However, this base model is short on standard amenities, and most of the options you'd probably want -- like the upgraded audio system, Bluetooth and even cruise control -- are only available on the more expensive models. You are also forced into getting a manual transmission. Luckily, those more expensive models really aren't too expensive, and we think if you're considering the Soul, it's worth the stretch.
