How It Got Its Score: The 2010 Audi A4 Avant is a great looking wagon, and a family friendly one, too, thanks to excellent crash test scores, plenty of safety equipment and lots of cargo space.
Unlike the A4 sedan, the 2010 Audi A4 Avant wagon is only available with Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, and only available with an automatic transmission. It also boasts a big advantage over its sedan sibling: More than twice as much cargo room. This 28.0 cu.-ft. of cargo space can be expanded to 50.5 cu.-ft. when you fold the seats down. It's plenty of day-to-day cargo space, and the extra is handy for when you need it. Best of all, it's wrapped in a package that, to our eyes at least, looks better than the sedans. If you really must have something from Audi's A4 line, this is the one to get if you have kids. However, keep in mind that it has the highest base price ($36,178 including destination), and the options add up just as quickly as they do on the sedans.
